The Government has taken a significant step towards building a more self-reliant and prosperous Assam by empowering the youth with self-employment opportunities and seeking cooperation from various stakeholders. This holistic approach not only benefits individuals, but also contributes to the state’s overall socio-economic development, creating a brighter future for all its residents.Under this initiative, the government has taken the inaugural step to lay the foundation for a brighter future. The main objective is to enable unemployed youth to become self-reliant by providing them with the resources, guidance and support they need. This includes training programs, financial aid, and market access. |

Eligibility Criteria of Atmanirbhar Schem |

| ❖ Applicants should be permanent residents of Assam and be above 28 years and below 40 years as on 1st April 2023 (upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC category has been relaxed to 43 years).❖ The applicant should have educational qualifications e.g. Minimum Qualification for General Category Class X passed (for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC: up to Class X) Diploma in ITI, Polytechnic, Other Technical Courses, Post Graduate Degrees in professional courses like Engineering, MBBS, BDS, Veterinary Medicine, Fisheries, Agriculture, CA etc.❖ The applicant should possess the skills, experience, knowledge, etc. to undertake income generating activities.❖ Applicants should have a bank account opened before 31st December❖ The applicant should not default on any loan previously taken from cooperative and nationalized banks.❖ No more than one member from any family will be eligible for benefits under this scheme.❖ The applicant must have valid registration with the employment exchange. |
